The Big announcement and superb idea which the Labour Leadership and Conference came up with at the weekend, is to have a Commission to look into the question of Devolution. To see if there is any need for further devolved powers, and what should these be, if any?
This follows hard on the heels of the Liberal Democrat Commission examining Home Rule, which of course they have never done before.
At the same time Civic Scotland is also currently holding their discussions on the question of further powers on devolution.
The Tories will wait and see the result of the Independence referendum before addressing further devolved powers.
Happy Days folks..It’s Commission Time!
Lets have another Commission
So we can turn years into minutes
We can turn hours into lifetimes
If there’s a committee were In it
If you want all the answers
we will happily agree
we’ll deconstruct all the evidence
with eight breaks for tea
We will have our inquiries
We’ll call our witness’s too
researching previous commissions
in order to find what to do
Soon we’ll discover
from their findings we’ll see
They addressed the same questions
so let that minuted be
when we publish conclusions
to something else we’ll move on
and in twenty years time
Another Commission will see what we’ve done.
