Letter from Afghanistan

When you go will you send back a letter from Afghanistan
Take a look at the shell holes, and watch out for the Taliban
If your best friend has fallen, then you know just who to blame
Those Politicians in Westminster who play their monopoly war games

If you’ve done your tour of duties fighting Shi’ites in Iraq
Watched as children maimed by collateral murder in every plane attack
Did you get sent out to Gadaffi while Tripoli was in flames
Are you setting out to Iran where the Ayatollahs are insane

We want you to come home now, too many good lives have been lost
Coffins draped with the Butchers Apron are never worth that cost
But the Blood Money men in London, always thirst for many more
If Oil leaked like blood they’d stop it, because that would hurt them sore

Back home here in Scotland, your worried family cannot sleep
Too many now still grieving, so many lost to them they weep
We hope and pray that every single day, you will survive and still be safe
While we rest on 300 Hiroshima’s lurking under the Holy Lochs small waves

We want
Union Dividend No More
Torys NO More
Labour No More
Libdems No More
Scotland ONCE MORE

About auldacquaintance

I am not a member of any political party. I am however a strong supporter of Scots Independence. Any views which I express in this Blog are purely my own. This Blog intends to be a place where I will be putting my views on Scots Independence. It will primarily concern itself with the upcoming Referendum In Scotland. However It will also be somewhat diverse in the range of day to day issues which are evident to me in modern day Scotland. Not all of it will be political, and indeed may take me off into avenues I am not even aware of yet. Please come and join in on this journey, and any comments are welcome provided they are not abusive! All the best from a new acquaintance! Rod
