One at a Time

As I have said before, I will say again. Over the course of the next 2 years we are going to be subjected to one hell of a lot of Hot Air, from politicians, commentators and the media.
It all started on the night that the SNP won their incredible victory in the Holyrood elections, when before the final results were even in, we had Unionists politicians demanding a quick referendum!
That coming form a bunch of chancers who had loudly decried our right to have a referendum in the first place!
The reason being of course…that they didn’t want the Scots to have the time, nor the education to make an informed choice on the matter.
Such dumbing down of the populace has always been how they have retained power…and here was the biggest nightmare threat to their comfortable existence coming to fruition.
Get it over and done with now! Was their cry. But unfortunately for them, they didn’t get their own way this time!

What has followed since has been a daily flow of negativity. Not a day goes past without some BritNat commentator, politician, publication or tv programme doing down Independence.
Their department of misinformation has been in warp speed overdrive.

Now that the seemingly Interminable war of words over process ahs been seemingly resolved, we may get onto actual debate? But not if they can possibly help it.
It was however nice to see my early prediction on the Blog come true.
When I referred to Alex Salmond allowing for a second question on Devo Max or something of that ilk. I suggested he had laid them a Rat Trap…and so it proved to be…They fell for it, hook, line, and sinker!
The only real position they could have taken, which may have stood a decent chance against Independence, they denied themselves, and fought against it…All because Alex Salmond and the SNP government said that they were open to someone proposing such an option.
Their knee jerk politics of being against anything the SNP were for or open to…came back and bit them on the bum.
I always felt that the 16/17 year old vote, was something of a sacrifice piece in the negotiation process. I don’t believe there IS a clear division on how this age group might vote?
But even that, they have conceded reluctantly. Why? Because, these 16/17 year olds will soon be old enough to vote in General Elections, and to deny them a say in the referendum would be very well remembered.
The end result being.. The YES campaign have all that they wanted, and more than they expected. The Bitter Together mob, have nothing!

The wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from the Labour dominated Scottish Select Committee, and the House of Lords has been extremely amusing to behold at times.
Whenever did Scottish Labour Mps become such ardent Unionists and Sacrificing their Socialism and Internationalism in the process?
However did they embrace Tory policies to the extent that they are now?
The answer being of course, when they realised they were about to lose all their privileges in London! The Dole beckons for them, sometime around 2016, and that would never do for them. No way!

But as I was saying yesterday. The Unionist Coalition of the Bitter Together campaign, will carry on indefinitely, as they have always done, with their Negativity..Every Day! It will be tortuous, but we cannot allow it to distract us. We have to keep focussed, no matter how weary we get of it all. Our future is at stake here. Our Childrens future is at stake, and their Childrens future is at stake. We cannot let them down.

We know the BritNats will use all the weight of the British Government to keep us down. We know the Press and the Media will be fully utilised to attack us. We know the State Broadcaster will continually be used to feed us imbalanced views, with one sided argument, and fixed panels in their debates.
We just have to accept all that as fact. So we just have to live with these unpalatable truths, and get on with it.

As for the polls….Ignore them.
We will be faced with all sorts of conflicting results. We will be told what the polls are told to prove! All depending on who their paymasters are! Most will be from the Unionist side.
The pollsters wanting to be paid, and rehired will endeavour to shape their questions accordingly to what their masters want.

Lets take two sample examples of how this is achieved.

Do you want your Country to be fully protected with all the latest weaponry to deter terrorist attacks? YES
Do you want your Country to have a major say in World defence in Nato? YES
Do you feel that we are better working together as a collective unit than as Individuals? YES
The United Kingdom does all of the above, so would you say that we should remain as we are???

By achieving a whole line of YES answers…It makes it harder for the individual to then say NO to the final one, even if they if don’t agree with it!
Political anoraks like myself would never fall for such a tactic..But the vast amount of people are not that clued in!!

Now lets go the other way:

Do you want the retention of Nuclear warheads in your country? NO
DO you want your country to be obligated by Council decisions in NATO on whether to go to war or not? NO
Do you feel that being subservient to the decisions of a much larger neighbour, who holds your purse stings a good Idea? NO
Given that you have no say in the UK hosting Nuclear warheads on your own doorstep,That they will send your children off to war without your consultation, and are dismantling the NHS,imposing huge fees for Higher Education, and penalising the poorest to pay for the richest in society. Is it a good Idea to be tied to them? NO

Ok, they are not concisely thought out real polling questions..but you get my drift I am sure!

The question on NATO is a real thorny one for the SNP at the moment. But it was very refreshing to see a party conference really being allowed to debate such a substantive issue.. Every other political party conference is so stage managed, real debate has been sidelined.

The SNP has decided to stay in NATO if they are the government of an Independent Scotland,BUT only if allowed to ditch Nuclear deal!

But let me also reiterate again. SNP policy may not be what the people of an Independent Scotland want. We may decide otherwise, and what initial shape Scotlands Government takes, and what decisions are made…will be down to the Government who wins the first General Election in 2016.. There is absolutely no guarantee we will vote SNP. It will be up to Scotlands new parties to place their case to us to decide what we want. The main thing is… What we want, we will get!!
what we will NOT have, Is us voting one way, and a party with barely any representation in our Country, and whose policies we have roundly rejected, then taking control of what actually happens to our lives!

I have said, time and time again…and I will continue saying.
The matter of our Independence is not a vote for the SNP or any other party. It is a vote for us to determine our own lives in our own country, under our control!
It is the right available to almost every other Country in the world, Small and Large, to determine it own future, for its own people.

We deserve to have that Right again!

The next couple of years is going to be full of the above hot air, and negativity..We need to express the Positives!

And given what we are up against. It will be up to each and every one of argue and debate the case with those who are undecided or even suckered into the Unionist camp, because they have been taken in by the bullshit which they are subjected to daily by the media and the BritNats negative campaigning.

It is not about Alex Salmond. It is not about the SNP..It doesn’t matter a damn whether you like Alex Salmond or not, or if you think he is full of himself, and has eaten all the pies!!
These are just nonsense reasons put out by those who are incapable of proper debate..If these Brit Nats can only slur someone’s personal demeanour and physical presence, or their diet…They have already conceded the argument! Who gives a damn if some rent a mob Boos him or not? Rubbish!

What matters is what we think!
And it matters a hell of a lot that we get at least one person to listen to what we are saying.
We cannot do that on the Internet…It takes real discussion with real friends and neighbours in real life!!

SO get to it!!! The Decision is In YOUR hands!!

About auldacquaintance

I am not a member of any political party. I am however a strong supporter of Scots Independence. Any views which I express in this Blog are purely my own. This Blog intends to be a place where I will be putting my views on Scots Independence. It will primarily concern itself with the upcoming Referendum In Scotland. However It will also be somewhat diverse in the range of day to day issues which are evident to me in modern day Scotland. Not all of it will be political, and indeed may take me off into avenues I am not even aware of yet. Please come and join in on this journey, and any comments are welcome provided they are not abusive! All the best from a new acquaintance! Rod
