They Demand to Know (poem)

We Need to Know

We need to know that
We demand to know this
Is there a man on the moon
Will there be heavenly bliss
Will you all burn in hell
Or by a nuclear strike
Will the Sahara freeze over
Will the equator have ice

When will the world end
when you call it a day
When will your wind stop
When will you rot and decay
We need to know answers
And we demand to know fact
You’re evading our questions
and we’ve never had tact

Don’t you know that the worlds flat
And you are about to drop off
Separations no answer
For a Union of toffs
Stand on you own feet
How are you going to do that
When you’ve a land full of mice
and we have all the fat cats

You never answered
Don’t you hear what we say
Armageddon is coming
and It’s the end of all days
We always say You
When we’re talking bout us
and we really don’t need you
that’s why we make such a fuss

And although you are worthless
we would love you to stay
You are such a huge burden
So Please don’t go away
Destitution is calling
and the economies shite
But if you really do leave us
Who will turn on our lights?

About auldacquaintance

I am not a member of any political party. I am however a strong supporter of Scots Independence. Any views which I express in this Blog are purely my own. This Blog intends to be a place where I will be putting my views on Scots Independence. It will primarily concern itself with the upcoming Referendum In Scotland. However It will also be somewhat diverse in the range of day to day issues which are evident to me in modern day Scotland. Not all of it will be political, and indeed may take me off into avenues I am not even aware of yet. Please come and join in on this journey, and any comments are welcome provided they are not abusive! All the best from a new acquaintance! Rod
