Christmas Present

As we fast approach another Christmas day, I will probably be taking a wee break over the the next couple of weeks, until the beginning of the New Year. I may add something periodically, but I will be absent for a few days here and there.
So before I go heading off to enjoy myself, I thought I would have a look at Christmas Present, and hand out some Christmas presents in the form of wishes.

So let me go through the political parties and some others to hand out these wishes.

Here is my Christmas List:

Scottish Labour.
May you actually form a party of that name and register it with the electoral commission. It may come in useful for when you want to contest seats in the new Independent Scottish parliament.
May you actually start making decisions for yourselves, and not just simply follow the orders of Labour in London.
May you in that process, rediscover what Labour values are!
May you stop behaving like a cross between Scrooge, shouting BAH Humbug at everything, and the Grinch who who wants to steal Christmas from Scotland’s students and all on Universal benefits, plus ending the Council Tax freeze you said you would be supporting, but now aren’t. And wanting to have us all blown to smithereens by having us sitting on top of 200 Hiroshima’s in Scotland.

Johann Lamont
The confidence to actually depart from the script handed to you every week in Holyrood. You do actually posses a sense of humour, when you depart from his masters voice. Start learning to be real leader, not a party apparatchik. So ditch the crap, and start thinking positively and Independently.

Jackie Bailey
May you never be faced and subjected to Trade Union councils again! You know that these people are beneath your disdain and contempt…just don’t go there. They don’t appreciate their place.

The Conservative Party and Lib Dem Coalition
Neither of you are at all relevant in Scotland anymore. It appears however that we are stuck with you at the present, whether we like it or not!
We don’t like it!
We know that there is not a snowballs chance in hell that you will stop behaving like an anti-Robin Hood, taking from the poor to hand to the rich. We know that you have gleefully accepted the gift left to you by the Blair/Brown Labour government, when It hired ATOS and set it’s welfare reform measures in place.
So it is pointless me or anyone else thinking that you wont make the most of the gilt laden opportunity to enhance these gifts Labour left you, to create many more Tiny Tims and Olivers In your new version of Dickensian society and the poor houses.
So may I wish the Ghost of Christmas Future on you all!

The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party
I wish you a speedy demise. You really should have taken the opportunity presented to you by Murdo Fraser, when he suggested that you junk the whole party, and start again!
He had the right idea! You used to be Scottish conservatives, and actually did very well in Scotland until you aligned yourselves to the English Conservative and Unionist party, and became their lackeys.
There will be a place for right wing politics in an Independent Scotland, but you wont be part of it thankfully. I see already that there are moves being made by some, namely the SDA, it will be interesting to see how they progress?

The Scottish LibDems
Hanging on to these turn coats and conservative sympathisers in Westminster is suicidal!
Start thinking for yourselves again, and actually follow your Liberal Democratic values where Scottish Labour and the conservatives will not. Force a free vote on how you want the Scottish Liberal Democrats to place themselves at your next Scottish party conference.
If you have any chance of survival in Scotland, that is the only route that will give you back any of your lost credibility.
If you do not actually stand up for the principals you say you espouse, then you deserve all that is coming to you.
Labour long ago deserted its principals and It’s people, don’t let your party get away with doing likewise.

The Scottish Greens

A very Green Christmas to you, lots of recycling, and I hope you all get shiny new bikes for your Christmas.
But In all seriousness, while I am not particularity green, I do agree with a lot of your social politics, and you have my support,if not my vote, for a lot of balanced good sense. Well done, and keep up the good work.

A massive well done on your successfully delivering our referendum. Love you to bits for that!
You have made a really solid and decent job of governing our parliament, and proving that Scotland does have talented politicians still.
However, I detect that you have been losing a bit of your edge recently, and making some silly blunders.
I know that you can’t be perfect all the time, nobody can be, far less a government. But you really do need more than ever, to be bang on the ball! The anti-independence lot can slip up as much as they like, but you cannot afford to!
Don’t let that massive majority, and the ineptness of your political opposition lull you into being blasé.
Nor ever take that majority for granted…what was given, can also be easily taken away! don’t forget it!

So may I wish you all a very merry Christmas, and few nice curries for Alex.

Balance, Impartiality, and a fair comments policy!

Yes…I know I am wishing a lot!! But if you don’t ask, you don’t get. I am asking, but still not getting!
So may Santa bring you a change of management policy!

Labour press releases, interviewing yourselves, and reporting biased press stories as fact, Is NOT News!

The Scottish Press
Lots more Drink!!
Have One Massive Binge and Blow out..Which will leave you with the hangover of all Hells. So much so that you unilaterally declare abstinence until after the YES vote in 2014, When you can party like that there is no tomorrow!
Until then, in complete sobriety, actually start doing some proper journalism. Not just spouting political press releases without checking their veracity. Take a proper and reflective view of the facts, measure them, and come up with informed article which will educate the people of Scotland.
Junk the political bias, and fire every political editor who is no more than a rabid mouthpiece for anti-Independence parties.
We don’t mind differing political opinions, but we do mind malicious comment presented as headline news and political fact!
Actually start doing your job properly, and you never know, you might actually stop your decline into the gutter, and get your readers back.
We need a properly informed and investigative press…Not some party political rag!

The Herald and Scotsman
Get a grip!!

Scottish Labour for Independence
A whole load of new members, and more power to your elbows!

Scottish Journalists who do report the facts properly, Bloggers,News sites, and these Infernal lovely Cybernats
Lots more inspired and debunking articles on the Lies being continuously spun by the anti-Independence mob.
Keep up your excellent work, getting the real truth of matters out there. Have a dram or two on me.

The Better Together Anti-Independence Campaign
Keep up the excellent work you are doing. It’s great the amount of stuff you present us with to totally debunk..and some of your ideas are genuinely amusing! Looking forward to much more of the same. Did I hear a hint of Scotland being attacked by Martians, splitting off the British Isles and falling over the edge of the world? Go for it!
I just love your Positive reasons for Union..Brilliant Satire .

The YES Scotland Campaign
I know the Better Together Campaign make your job so much easier. But lets see you on the front foot as our first foot from Hogmanay . You are settling In well, but now is really the time to push on!
Blair Jenkins has done well in the limited opportunities to debate with Alastair Darling, who is running scared of him. I expect this to be given full support by all the Independently minded political parties, and for them all to input together into it. Independence is NOT the SNP or any party, but all of them, and for all organisations, Trade Unions, and non politically minded people. It is a clear concept, a clear direction, and the natural state for everyone in our whole country of Scotland to aspire to. So lets see everyone involved and participating, irrespective of political ideology or none.
I wish all the campaign, Its Staff, Its volunteers, and everyone associated with it, all that Santa can provide.
We expect great things from YES, but it is up to us all to really make it happen. Don’t be shy, get involved!

If you haven’t signed the declaration, or haven’t joined, or want more information, or want to help.

YES Scotland

It will make a grand Scottish Christmas Present

All the readers an contributors of my efforts.
Thank You!
I hope Santa brings you all the best of everything you could want, and more!

Have a Lovely Christmas, and enjoy unwrapping all your good wishes and blessings.

Merry Christmas

About auldacquaintance

I am not a member of any political party. I am however a strong supporter of Scots Independence. Any views which I express in this Blog are purely my own. This Blog intends to be a place where I will be putting my views on Scots Independence. It will primarily concern itself with the upcoming Referendum In Scotland. However It will also be somewhat diverse in the range of day to day issues which are evident to me in modern day Scotland. Not all of it will be political, and indeed may take me off into avenues I am not even aware of yet. Please come and join in on this journey, and any comments are welcome provided they are not abusive! All the best from a new acquaintance! Rod

Merry Christmas to you too. Or as merry as it can be on £71pw. Do have a drink to celebrate because if the Tories get their way, you won’t be able to buy any alcohol in the future. Happy 2013 and to all Yes voters here’s hoping 2014 will be even better,

  3. helentyates says:

    Nice AA.

  5. Brian Hill says:

Glad to see you mention Labour for Independence AA but you didn’t say much of the importance of this organisation to the YES Campaign or indeed the phenomenal success it has had in such a short time. It has a never ending amount of street stalls and meetings and is even engaging Labour branches in Independence discussions.

These guys are key to the success of the YES Campaign.

    Stay Positive – VOTE YES

  6. Kate says:

I agree Brian, I think it will be LFI that wins the yes vote for us.

  7. Ian says:
