Personal Comment

Hi folks, just a wee personal message from me, and a thanks to all who have been inquiring after my well being.

First off, let me assure all those who have been concerned about my extended leave of absence from my blog, that I am in reasonable health, and there is not anything fundamentally wrong with me.
It was my intention to take a breather from writing for a short while, however that period extended longer than even I imagined it would.
It is unlikely that I will be writing at the same frequency as before for some time yet, although I will make some more frequent incursions into the independence debate as things hot up.

2013 started off badly for me, and through the month of January, I was beset by one problem after another in short order. In fact I cannot remember ever having such a terrible start to any year!
I wont go into a catalogue of events, but suffice to say, I didn’t have my troubles to seek!

The main factors included my battle with DWP over a benefit sanction which resulted in a state of destitution for 6 weeks. The battle was eventually won,but it gave me first hand insight into the social criminality of the British Government, and It sickened me literally.
My health took a turn for the worse, and this caused me no end of concern for a number of weeks, blood tests, heart and lung xrays, potential kidney disease signified by what turned out to be faulty readings of a sample. Fortunately all turned out much better than feared. It certainly gave me a good old shake, and lifestyle changes are the order of the day.

I had some communications with the YES campaign, and as a result I felt completely deflated. I don’t want to go into the reasons why at the moment, but suffice to say, I was so utterly fed up by this point that I stopped writing.
My intention as I have said was to take a short break, but It has extended somewhat more than I expected.

As negative as January had been, February turned everything on its head! Someone very special came waltzing into my life, and helped turn things all around.
The upshot being, that while all Januarys negatives stopped me writing, Februarys positive had the same effect for the opposite reason.
Its just as well none of us can tell what the future holds, otherwise we would all be gibbering basket cases! 2013 has had the symptoms of a manic year thus far.

I have spent most spare time since January desperately looking for work in the West of Scotland, but to no effect thus far.
while I have been looking to relocate because of my personal life, I got hit by the news two weeks ago that my landlord is selling up, and I will be asked to leave my flat here in the North in the next couple of months.

With all that going on…..well, I am afraid that writing for Scotlands independence has taken a back seat.
I have been keeping a close watch, and I have felt like writing about some of the events and issues which have been taking place, but unfortunately I just haven’t felt like making time to write with so much else to occupy my mind.

I will be back up to speed though eventually….. and no doubt I will have plenty to say when things are back on an even keel again.

Thanks again for all your support and well wishes, It is much appreciated.

Rod

About auldacquaintance

I am not a member of any political party. I am however a strong supporter of Scots Independence. Any views which I express in this Blog are purely my own. This Blog intends to be a place where I will be putting my views on Scots Independence. It will primarily concern itself with the upcoming Referendum In Scotland. However It will also be somewhat diverse in the range of day to day issues which are evident to me in modern day Scotland. Not all of it will be political, and indeed may take me off into avenues I am not even aware of yet. Please come and join in on this journey, and any comments are welcome provided they are not abusive! All the best from a new acquaintance! Rod

I was wondering what had happened…Sounds like you have been living in the “interesting times” referred to in the old Chinese curse. I wish you well from over here in New York. Trust in God, or the Universe, and things will work out.

hope things continue to look up for you and you find work soon. I, myself, have just relocated from the Highlands to Argyll after about 18 months of looking for work here. Don’t give up, something will come along. And you don’t owe us an explanation for having other things on. Good luck for the future and I look forward to reading more of your work when you have the time
