They are having a laugh..aren’t they?

With 500 days to go before referendum day, the No,Better Together campaign came up with a terrific wheeze.
They decided to ask 500 questions on what Scotland would do on Independence.
But they were surely having a laugh weren’t they?
They either cannot count..(perfectly possible considering the state of the economy or they were playing a silly joke, because 507 questions into 500 wont go.

The following is one of their astute questions: “19.How many embassies and consuls would and independent Scotland have around the globe? ”
Can you spot the deliberate mistake in that?

On the other hand they were having a little game amongst themselves of who can come up with the most silly question?
The following are not actual examples.. but they may as well have been.

1. “Is ski-jumping a popular sport in the Sudan?

356: Will Scotland cease its barbaric Haggis Cull every January?

432: Will Subway fast food premises still provide asylum for fleeing politicians?

I was going to put a spoof question of ..Is there going to be internet in an Independent Scotland?

But they actually did ask that in question 384! You couldnae make it up..Well actually, it appears that they have!

Apart from the fact that a high number of their questions are nonsensical or cannot possibly be answered without negotiation with a British government that refuses to even consider entering dialogue at this present time, and which wont even speak to Europe on what the rUKs position would be in Europe, and can only be answered by a Scottish government once Independence has been voted for. I was nearly dying of boredom by question 30.

The fact of the matter is…. They seem utterly incapable of saying anything which actually might give Scots a positive reason for staying with the Union. Where are the benefits of being better together in our daily lives? In what way does being part of this Union actually make our life better here in Scotland? What is the positive case to encourage us to remain? How can the Union make our communities better, and how can it ensure that there is an even distribution of wealth and access to resources for the poorest as well as the richest in our country?

Just one real positive answer from them would be a start….Please try, it can’t be that hard surely?
After all, we all benefit hugely from being a region of the UK don’t we?

Other than that….Do they think we are really stupid?? We are going to tell them all our plans, just so that it makes it easier for them to sabotage them? Negating our negotiating positions, Aye Right!

About auldacquaintance

I am not a member of any political party. I am however a strong supporter of Scots Independence. Any views which I express in this Blog are purely my own. This Blog intends to be a place where I will be putting my views on Scots Independence. It will primarily concern itself with the upcoming Referendum In Scotland. However It will also be somewhat diverse in the range of day to day issues which are evident to me in modern day Scotland. Not all of it will be political, and indeed may take me off into avenues I am not even aware of yet. Please come and join in on this journey, and any comments are welcome provided they are not abusive! All the best from a new acquaintance! Rod

Did they ask how many High Commissions Scotland would have? I would imagine it would have a few including in the rUK or do they think Scotland would be the only country to gain independence from the UK and be expelled immediately?

  2. Macart says:

A fantabulous exercise in how to shoot yourself in the foot. 500 questions = 1 answer

A democratically empowered, mandated and elected Scottish government will make the best choice and decision based on the needs of the Scottish electorate.
