The SNP need to stop going on about Independence, and need to get on with doing their proper job in running the government. They need to start concentrating on the things that really matter like education and health. Why are they not doing this? It just simply Isn’t good enough.
Don’t the SNP realise that Scotland has spoken, and that the people of Scotland said No to Independence, the SNP need to listen to this and accept that NO means NO.
Theresa May and all the Tory and Labour leadership are fully in agreement on this. The Scottish people have no appetite for another re run of a Scottish Independence referendum.
The above is the constant mantra we hear from the Tories, Labour, and Lib Dems in the Scottish parliament and in every media they can get their convoluted message out on…which is all the media!
You have had your referendum, and NO means No, so stop agitating.
The interesting thing is that the SNP have barely mentioned the Independence word, and have been getting on with the business of running the government. Indeed, the Tories never ever stop banging on about Independence. They mention Independence with almost every statement they make.
By shouting, stop talking about Independence, they are trying to convey the impression that this is all the SNP go on about, which of course is entirely false but that doesn’t matter to them. If you create a Lie and shout about it all the time, people start to think that the lie is true. If the Tories and Labour and the LibDems are all shouting the same thing, there must be truth in it, right? Wrong…It is all deflection, a means to keep people from actually looking too closely at these parties own ineptitude.
If folks can manage the time or the inclination, it is a worthwhile exercise to look in on FMQs every week in Holyrood. Actually looking at it, and what is said, by whom it is said, and not relying on the perverse reporting of it on the North British TV news, which slants it all in the North British way.
If folks were to do that, there are a number of things that they would notice. Namely the cohesion there is between the Labour and Tory parties in the questions/complaints that they make. It would almost seem like they choreograph their questions beforehand.
Folks would also notice that their pet complaints for the week, are simply that..complaints. There is no alternative suggestions put, nothing of positivity that might actually make things better for peoples lives. No nothing of the sort, that would entail actually coming up with policies of their own.
After the Brexit vote, for one short moment in time, all these opposition parties in Scotland actually decided to agree that Nicola Sturgeon should endeavour to find some sort of way through the Brexit mess, and to try and examine all avenues and solutions to find a way to keep Scotland in the EU, up to and including Independence if all else failed.
After all, all these Scottish branches of the British parties had voted to Remain, and this was the confirmed will of the Scottish people too, with every region and with a winning percentage of 62% of Scotland wanting to Remain.
Unfortunately such consensus to work together towards that end was short lived, and it was not long before the Scottish branch leaders of the Conservatives, Labour and Lib Dems were told to get back in their box, and to forget about such a fanciful Idea as Scotland somehow independently remaining, and to get back to their day job of slagging the SNP off.
It soon became abundantly clear that Theresa May and her government had no Intention of including the “Regions” in the main Brexit talks when they come about and no alternatives were to be allowed to a full English Brexit, and so Increasingly the final solution from a Scottish perspective is now being prepared but not actioned as yet, that of Scottish Independence.
When Article 50 is triggered, possibly early next year, it is at that point that the Tories and Labour and LibDem leadership can with some justification start shouting about the SNP going on about Independence because by then their collective fears will have come true and Scotland will again be having another referendum.
Perhaps by then the Scottish Tories will have figured out what Brexit is, and wont need to ask the SNP what it is.
Perhaps by then…All of Scotland will have decided that enough is enough in this broken union, and leave the British Separatists to cut themselves off from the rest of the World while Scotland gets back on.
